Help recognise our brightest literary and creative communicators
New prizes to support top students in the new and evolving field of literary and creative communications.
“It’s been exciting to roll out the Literary and Creative Communication major in the Bachelor of Communication over the last two years. The new Literary and Creative Communication prizes will recognise the talents and achievements of students across the major, who have been producing outstanding writing in all genres, and enable us to attract the best creative talent to our programme,” said Nikki Hessel, Associate Professor of English, Film, Theatre, Media Studies, and Art History, when asked about the new prizes to be awarded to the top student in each year of the Literary and Creative Communication (LCOM) major—established in 2020.
This new and exciting major offered to those studying either a Bachelor of Communications or Bachelor of Arts, allows students to explore the connections between communications, literature, and the creative arts, developing writing skills that can lead to a wide range of career roles. As an interdisciplinary major, it blends the traditional humanities with a focus on writing as a profession, publishing, and editing.
